I have attempted to find out specific information online about the route between Granada to Barcelona, but to no avail. I'm just curious as to where the train passes through on its twelve hour journey and how many stops (brief, I guess) it makes. Does it run near the coastline a major part of the way? Just trying to get an idea of what I will experience on route to Barcelona. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

According to the timetables at www.bahn.de, you will not travel near the coast and you will need to make several connections. The fastest route takes just over eight hours. To see for yourself, enter Granada as your departure point and Barcelona Franca as your arrival point. After you get summary timetables, click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points. Then click on "Show intermediate stops" and/or "Show map" for the route(s) of your choice.
