Day tour in Provence, France

I will be visiting France mid-September with a friend and we are thinking of taking a one-day tour of Provence, as we don't have very much time to explore the area. It seems that the best way to do this would be to join a bus or minivan tour for the day. Any suggestions on specific tours that are affordable and fun/interesting. We could leave either from Marseille (flying into Marseille from London) or Avignon for the tour and we're not very picky about what we want to see, just want to get a taste for the area and explore the beauty a little. Thanks for any suggestions!

We stopped in Avignon on our river cruise and they arranged a tour of Pont Du Gard and Uzes for several of us. I would highly recommend doing that. Pont Du Gard was simply amazing. We also had a walking tour of Uzes. I think the company was Avignon Tours. It cost about 41 euro a person but I don't know if that was a special arranged price. Our guide spoke English and was very personable.

We have taken a one day trip to Provence with Paris Vision on the high speed train TGV. You go to their office and they take you to the train station, give you your tickets and itinerary, get you on the train and you will be met in Avignon by guide and mini van. We toured Avignon, Popes Palace, drove through Arles, St. Remy, went to Les Baux and Pont du Gard. More I can't recall now. Back to train station and on your own from station. It was a very long day - maybe 15 hr. - but it was our only opportunity to go to Provence and we thought it was well worth it.
