Has anyone taken the hop on hop off tour by boat in PRis called The Batobus? It sounds like a good deal as we're coming in from Versailles for the day on a Saturday and want to take in the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Invalides.
The batobus is not a tour. It is a boat-bus with multiple stops at tourist areas on both sides of the river. There is no commentary on the batobus like there is on a HOHO bus. It is a nice way to get around for the day and more pleasant than being underground on the metro.
Thanks. I think we'll go that way. Do you know if you can buy tickets on line?
I don't know if you can buy them online, but there is really no advantage to doing that anyway. If you take the RER from Versailles to the stop by the Eiffel Tower, you can walk down to the river near the tower and by the bridge. You will find a ticket booth there.
The Batobus is a less expensive way to enjoy the Seine. It is not a very quick or efficient way to travel around Paris if you are on a tight time schedule. The boats run less frequently than the Metro or buses.
Thanks. As we are staying at Versailles for 2 days before the tour begins we'll be going into Paris on Saturday for the day and will be taking the Batobus. Do you know if you can buy tickets for the RER before hand out at Versailles or should we just go to the train station? Gail
