Dali Traingle

Does anyone out there know how long it takes to drive between all 3 sites of the Dali Triangle In Catalonia? Also, how much time should I assume I'll need to see the main site, his Theater-Museum, thoroughly? I'm assuming the other 2 sites will take 1-2 hours each.

How long you stay at each place is a matter of preference, plus there's more than Dali stuff at each one so you have to figure that in. Girona is about an hour north of Barcelona. Starting from Girona, the driving time for the loop through Cadaques, Port Ligat, Figures, Pubol, and back to Girona is between three and four hours. That's about six hour of just driving. You'd need a couple of days. At least one and a half.

Thanks. I will be in the Girona-Cadaques area for 3-4 days, but I don't want to do the entire Triangle in one day, so I plan to do Figueres from Girona and the rest from Cadaques. I already have reservations for Pubol and Port Lligat, but not in the most efficient order, but I guess all 4 are close to one another that an inefficient itinerary isn't a big deal.

Glad to see that you already have the necessary reservations for both Pubol and Port Llegat. We have been to the Museo Teatro Dali twice now, and spent about 3-3.5 hours each time. Bring euro coins for the folding-art machines! Keep the flash off of your camera, and you'll be able to get the Mae West room. Enjoy... it's one of my favorite museums.

Bob - for what it's worth:
Just so you know, the road into (and out of) Cadaques is one of those steep, switchback narrow ones. We thought it would be a pain to get there, leave again to go to Pubol, and return. We found it convenient to overnight in Girona and see that, drive to Pubol the next day, continue thru Peratallada for lunch, continue to Empuries (Greek and Roman sites), and then on to Cadaques for 2 nights where we went to the house at Port Lligat. We went to Figueres the next day on our way back to Barcelona to return the car.

The drive to Cadeques is very mountainious .. full of curves, and the like. The actual tour of his house is on a set schedule with only a certain number of people in at any given time. The ticket will have time on it. An hour or so will let you see it all. The setting is wonderful, literally only feet away from the ocean.

We went to the Theatre-museum a couple of years ago and we spent several hours there. We also went to the jewellery exhibition, which was truly fabulous.

I should have said it's the Dali jewelry exhibition. His work with jewelry is really stunning.
