Has anyone been to the daffodil festival in Bad Aussie. We will be driving from Salzburg to Hallstat and then Vienna on May 22nd...I believe there is a Daffodil festival in Bad Aussie on this day..Is it worth it going there..We are currently planning on 2 nights in vienna. Instead I am thinking of spending a night at hallstat/ Bad Aussie area ( Any recommendation on places to stay)..drive the next day morning through danube/Melk and reach Vienna. We fly out of Vienna that next day morning. I am thinking we will just have enough time to just grab dinner somewhere and may be visit the Hapsburg palace late evening. Any recommendations on Hallstat/ Bad Aussie vs Vienna.
Thanks for your help!

With so much to see in just 2 days, I'd save Vienna for another trip and focus on the beautiful countryside. Hallstadt will keep you occupied for at least half a day and Bad Aussee is worth a visit since you'll be so close. Check out http://www.narzissenfest.at/ to see what goes on at the flower festival (it runs from May 21-24). The Abbey at Melk is a major 'Must See' and then the drive up the Wachau Valley of the Danube to Krems am der Donau is fantastic. With the time and distance involved, I'd suggest spending a night in the Melk area so you'll be able to visit the Abbey first thing the next morning.
Thanks Tim. Any suggestions for good hotels/ Zimmer around the Melk area?
Check out Hotel Wachau in Melk (website has English option) and Hotel Restaurant zur Post, Melk (google to use translate option). Both have good reviews.
