D-Day half day tours

We are taking the Battlebus American highlights tour. however we will be in Bayeux the day before and would like to see some of the other D-day sites such as Pegasus bridge and the British beach. Are there good half day tours for this or is it possible to hire a guide for a few hours or half day for this?

Can't help with the half day guide suggestion, but do make time to visit the WW2 museum in Bayeux. We spent several hours there. The British cemetery is also in Bayeux. The cathedral there is lovely and the museum that is attached to the Tapestry exhibit was interesting too.

We easily spent 3 wonderful days in Bayeux, though 2 of them were spent on the 2 day American Experience tour. Some day we hope to go back and do the British Experience and the Canadian Experience tours. Strolling the streets filled with houses built in the 1500's was fascinating.

Brenda, Try contacting Stuart Robertson. He is a former tour guide for Battlebus who is now doing tours on his own. I don't know if he does half day tours, but it is worth asking. He's a really nice guy and very passionate about the servicemen who fought in Normandy. We had him for one of our Battlebus tours and really liked him. Just google Stuart Robertson Normandy.
