has anyone had good experiences using these internet places to send emails while traveling?
Cyber cafes are not as common as they once were, although you can still find one if you look hard enough. If you only use the internet for email, however, many hotels offer a public computer for this purpose. If you have a laptop, Nederlands Spoorweg (Dutch Rail) now offers free Wifi, although there are bandwidth restrictions.
There's a convenient 24-hour place in Paris on rue Soufflot near the Pantheon - called "Milk." Used it a couple of times. They had some qwerty keyboards available.
suzanne,
You might check the websites of the Hotels you'll be staying at. Many Hotels these days provide a computer in the Lobby for guests and or free Wi-Fi for those travelling with Laptops.
There are Internet Cafés in various cities, however as someone else noted they're becoming less common these days.
Happy travels!
Milk cafe is expensive, there is one across from Luxenburg Gardens in Paris, top of BLVD Michele, it is more reasonable. Also be sure to ask for an English keyboard.
