My wife and i will be going from the CT to the Berne Oberland Switzerland the end of March. Any advice on train trips between the two, times, etc.
Thanks
Thank you very much -- that site will be a big help.
Where are you staying in the BO? If you are staying in the Lauterbrunnen Valley or high villages there, you won't be able to buy the tickets from Interlaken Ost into the valley in Italy. The reason is - you have to pay for these tickets in Swiss Francs. Don't worry a bit. It's so easy. In the CT, buy your tickets to Interlaken Ost. To make it easy, here's a link to a SAMPLE SCHEDULE. It's an 8 hour train journey with train changes in at least Milan and Spiez. Once at Interlaken Ost, buy your tickets for the rest of the journey. VERY VERY EASY. One hint: On your train change in Spiez, run around to the opposite side of the train station and get some Swiss Francs from the ATM there. You can use your Visa at Interlaken if you need to.
