Hello, I bought the Rick Stven's Croatia and Solvenia book, which is wonderful. Lot of information. Not sure how to do the trip car vs ferries. Traveling from 8/20 till 8/31 to croatia thinking of doing Dubrovnic 2 days ( mijet for 1 day) kotor bay (1 night) Korcula (2 nights) Split (2 nights) and Pit park (1 night) and up to Rovinji for 2 nights. Should we drive from dubrovnic to Korcula (via Oberic) or take the ferry. Same question from Korcula to the mainland croatia, should we take a car ferry from Korcula to Drevnik or get the ferry. Concern is about ferry lines, vs traffic jam's.. Any ideas would be helpful Thanks

You'll have to take a ferry to Korcula with or without a car - the car will just be an added expense. I went to Korcula via Orebic by a bus (part of a one day tour)- the bus went on the ferry as well. Yes, I think it's worth the drive to Orebic - the Peljesca pensinsula you will be passing is beautiful- and you can stop in Ston on the way which is interesting. I was in Croatia between Aug 30 and mid Sept and there were no traffic jams along the coast. You don't "need" a car to go along the coast - the bus service is great from Split to Dubrovnik. If you take a car to Dubrovnik, it's better to get a place to stay outside the city walls because you won't be able to park the car in the old city.
