has anyone toured the famed prison island where the count of monte cristo was jailed? marseille france is the city thats closest???? I am not finding any info on how, when, and where to find a tour. anyone have tips/info. thank you

The Chateau d'If is listed in Rick's Provence book. Boats leave the Old Port every hour 09:00-17:00 but the 2007 times should be verified at the TI. 30-minute trip, E10. More info in book.

As there never was a Count of Monte Cristo, he coul never have been imprisoned anywhere. The story is still a great one.
