Correction to Rick's Paris 2010 guidebook (Chartres cathedral)

In the Chartres cathedral section, it should be noted that Malcolm Miller, the British ex pat who offers tours of the cathedral, normally requires a minimum of twelve (12) persons to do his daily tours. This is clearly posted at the cathedral, and Malcolm says it hasn't changed in years. I told him Rick's guide says he requires only four (4) persons. He said that must be a misprint.

I visited Chartres last week, and found Malcom's tour to be very much worth it. He is an expert on the history of the cathedral, and interpreting the meaning of the wonderful stained glass windows.

Only seven English speakers showed up for the noon tour, but fortunately, Malcolm gave in and did the tour anyway.

I, too, had the privilege and pleasure of a tour of Chartres with Malcolm Miller. Three years ago, I was advised the minimum was 10 persons for a tour. We only had 5 in our group and we paid extra to make up the difference. It was worth every Euro.
