Cordoba, Spain train station luggage storage

We will be visiting Cordoba for a day visit on our trip from Madrid to Seville. Does anyone have definitive information concerning the availability of luggage storage. I have read conflicting statement. Some say it's closed, some say it's open. Obviously. we are in dire need of very current info for our October trip. I have also read that there is minimum starage at the bus station and only for small bags. Any current information and suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks

Hi Nancy,

There was a post on TripAdvisor.com earlier this year that I remember discussing this same issue (the confusion of "Are there?" or "Aren't there?").

I dug up the post (from late April) and the link to it can be found here. (there are 2 pages to this TA post)

The verdict seemed to be that yes, there is a left luggage facility, but I've not personally confirmed it.

We did Cordoba as a day trip/stop on the way from Seville to Madrid (same idea, just going the other direction).

We found no way/place to leave luggage in the train station, but there were indeed some (limited) luggage lockers in the bus station across the street. They took coins and nobody in the bus station wanted to make change (I bought some candy with a large bill, several times). There were only a handful of lockers, so there was a bit of a race to get to them before they were all taken.

Cordoba is a great stop on this high speed line. The mezquita is spectacular.

FYI. We contacted the tourist board in Cordoba. There is definitely no storage at the train station and a few lockers at the bus station. Availability after 9;00 am is questionable. Does anyone know the size of the loclers. Will they accommadate a 26 inch suitcase.

Does anyone know a hotel or hostal near the train station that would store our bags for the day at a fee.

The Cordoba tourist board should address this issue since lack of storage will decrease potential visitors who plan to stop enroute from Madrid to Seville.

The lockers are pretty big - we got both of our main bags in one locker (the typical "maximum carry on" dimensions). I didn't see any hotels nearby - the stations are not really in a hotel area.

I was worried about this, too, but we managed. My advice is to be prepared, be ready to get quickly from the train to the lockers, and beat the other folks who won't be so well organized. 1) have a pocket full of change ready before you get on the train (so you don't waste time hunting for change). 2) Be ready to move before the train pulls into the station - be among the first off the train, and 3) Go directly to the lockers in the bus station, go directly to the lockers, and grab one. You should probably be OK. The slackers who wander in 2 minutes behind you will wish they had their act together.

Our train won't be arriving till 11:00 am. Do you think lockers will be available that late. What time did you arrive? I'll put on my running shoes and practice a sprint.
Thanks ever so much.

IIRC, we probably got there sometime around 10 or 11 am, and we got one. No guarantees, but I think the chances are reasonably good if you have your act together. I'd give it a try - just be ready to be the first one off that train to claim one. If all else fails, there's a TI office back in the train station and they seemed helpful - maybe they could recommend someplace in a pinch.

Good luck - and have a great trip!
