Hi, Planning to see the Mezquita on a Sunday (stop over from Madrid to Sevilla) or back track on Monday with our friend from Sevilla. A few questions: Does anyone know if the luggage storage situation has changed in cordoba- or are the lockers still available at the bus station? Do you know if tickets for Mezquita can be reserved in advance? Should we pick up tickets the day before or will it be like Alhambra/Sagrada familia that people wait for hours in line for a ticket? In RS 2011 book it shows 8 euro and 30 euro for the guided tour on the website. Has anyone taken the guided tour or are the audio tours just fine for our day visit? Whats the best time to go for pictures? Is it like the alhambra where people say it? better to visit at night? Thanks
Yes, there is still luggage storage at the bus station. No, you cannot reserve tickets for the Mezquita in advance beware Sunday hours - http://tanet2.astivia.org/centros/84/gdocumental/l2_a3_c1/3AGOSTOhorarios.pdf Who can know about queues in the future? No comment about any other query. Best wishes.
i didn't use the audio guide - read plenty before you go it's just fine. i'd go early in the day. tickets are not allocated by hour, and you also walk around the garden, the old city quarter with all the shops so picture won't be good when dark.
We have been 3 times, twice this year. I cannot remember the particular days of the week. Queues have ranged from nil, to only a few, to about a 15 - 20 min wait. We have never taken a guided tour so cannot comment on that - or on luggage storage.
Note that according to the online website, it is not open to visits between 10 am and 2 pm on Sundays----during services in the cathedral which is in the middle. We visited at midday and even then the light inside was quite dim.
