We are going to Germany late September and I would like to surprise my chef-husband with a cooking class while in Berlin, Munich or Dresden. Any recommendations?

Cindy, what an interesting question! I googled "Kochschule, Berlin, Germany" and came up with several results. Checked out the website of Kochschule Berlin Mitte - looked pretty good and you can sign up for half-day or so lessons. They say they're for people from 18-70. However, doesn't look like they're geared to English speakers. Hope y'all speak German! There was no September schedule yet, maybe they're a start-up and do catering in the meantime....

I would check on Toytown with this question. This is a website for English speaking expats that live in Germany. It even has a "cooking" section. This way you might get an answer for all of those cities.
