I am thinking of attending the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Olympic stadium in Munich. Can anyone give me information about the stadium along with its location in relation to the airport? And, is anyone on the RS website planning to attend the concert? Thanks!

The distance between the two is about 21 miles, according to Michelin. The Olympic stadium would be considered in the city proper, while the airport is out in the sticks (or swamp as it is locally known.)Both are accessible by a number of streetcar/subway connections. The TV tower and BMW headquarters are also near the olympic park. See http://www.olympiapark.de/

If you're staying at the airport take the S-Bahn to Marienplatz and then the U-3 to Olympiazentrum, it's a short walk from there. It will take about 50 minutes and cost 11,20 for a full day ticket for the full network.

Thanks for the information. Do you know anyone who is attending the concert? I am still trying to decide about attending. Trying to get tickets on the German website is difficult. Do you know much about the stadium as a concert venue?
