my boyfriend and I are traveling to Madrid and then Granada, Malaga, Ronda, Seville and Gibraltor and possibly Cadiz and Valencia from June 26th to July 10th. We are staying in modest B&B's / guesthouses and possibly an overnight camping refugio hut in /near the Sierra's. We would like to treat ourselves to a stay at a nice/luxury hotel at one of our stays. Any recommendations on what place from those mentioned above you think we should get a nice hotel and what hotel we should stay at? Should it be near the Gorge/mountains of Ronda? The beach town of Malaga? Help, please. Thanks in advance
There's a great Spanish chain called NH Hotels. They aren't exactly luxury, but they are usually 4 stars and pretty nice.
The NH hotels chain is very good. In Seville, check out the web site of The Patio of Santa Cruz...in the Jewish Quarter. Not 'luxury luxury' but would be a great choice.
I'd choose Granada for a nice night, at the Palacio Mariana Pineda !

Rick used to call such a hotel, "Worthwhile Splurge". An issue you haven't raised is possible hot weather or street noise. If you want to postpone the decision, you might check the weather a week ahead. Another way of reasoning: Madrid is likely to be hottest and noisiest place. An (air-condidioned!) worthwhile splurge we've used twice there is the Hotel Preciados, and it's not even in the Luxury price class. I would also expect Granada to be hot. You didn't mention if you have a car. Many upscale and urban hotels charge for parking.
