Has anybody been to both of these places? I'm going to Germany next week for 10 days and am now torn between choosing one of these places since I can only dedicate 3 days to the Rhine/Mosel River area. Should I take the day trip to Cologne from the Rhine/Mosel area or spend one day in the Rhine from Bacharach to St. Goar and the next two days in the Mosel area (Cochem & Trier) or just one day there and head to Cologne the next day? It would be 3 full days and nights leaving on the 4th day to Rothenburg. Train travel the whole time.
