Colmar on Sunday!

Planning on being in Colmar early May and would like any suggestions as to hotels, restaurants, etc. Unfortunately we will be arriving on a Sunday and leaving the next day to head towards Strasbourg. Assume most things will be closed but don't know.
Any help would be appreciated.

I stayed at the Hotel St Martin. Great location for walking, exploring. Lovely old building. Very nice people. Good breakfast. The Unterlinden Museum is remarkable, and the reason I went to Colmar: Isenheim altar, but also a lovely collection beyond that. Wonderful early/Gothic collection, but a much broader collection than I expected.
Don't know what you agenda in Strasbourg is, but I enjoyed Colmar far more. Spent 3 days in Colmar and visited the Strasbourg on a day trip.

In general in France most shops will be closed on Sundays, but museums and attractions will be open. (Museums usually close on either Monday or Tuesday.) Restaurants are variable: some do close on Sundays but it's unlikely that there won't be a restaurant open on a Sunday in a town the size of Colmar.

Hi Bill, in regards to Colmar, check this website www.musee-unterlinden.com. They exhibit the world-famous Isenheim alterpiece (24 panels painted by Grunewald in 1500) amazing masterpiece you won't want to miss! Au revoir

Colmar is certainly worth a day but I would recommend another day in Colmar to drive the Route de Vin villages. This was such a treat.
