Hello - Based on RS's latest book he indicates there is free wifi and access at the Saint Martin in Colmar. The website for the hotel indicates it's available and free in the public areas. I did some searches on here and didn't find any further information (and emailed the hotel). I also searched Trip Advisor and someone indicated they had WIFI in their room...but even booking.com indicates it's in public areas only. Anyone that has stayed here know if there is actually wifi available in all the rooms (or perhaps it depends how close your room is to the public area? Thanks!
Ali, I don't have any information on the Wi-Fi at the Hotel St. Martin, and also didn't find much information their website. Are you definite on staying at that Hotel? You might also have a look at Le Rapp Hotel (also listed in the Guidebook I believe). I was there last year, and as I recall there was Wi-Fi in the rooms. You might send an E-mail to the St. Martin Hotel to enquire about the Wi-Fi. Happy travels!
Thanks Ken. I'm not definitely staying there - was looking at the first 3 options in the book actually. I was thinking Saint Martin might be better for me given it seems more in the middle of town (and I'll be traveling solo this portion of my trip). I did email the hotel but haven't received a response...I suspect that they advertise WIFI in public areas and if you happen to have a room near those areas you get it. I'll likely go with Le Rapp since they do have availability. Thanks again!
Hi Ali, We did have wi-fi in our room last September. It's a big old building that has been d nicely but I'm not sure about all the rooms having access.I would definitely recommend the hotel. Colmar and the area is great.
Ali, If you decide to stay at Le Rapp, it's in a great location for walking to restaurants, the Unterlinden etc. It's a bit of a walk from the rail station, so I took a Taxi when I arrived with luggage. However, on the day I made a day trip to Strasbourg (and wasn't packing luggage), I walked from the Hotel. It wasn't too bad. It also has a swimming pool in the basement, although I didn't have time to try it out. On arrival day, I had lunch in the restaurant at Le Rapp on arrival day, and it was awesome (too bad this website doesn't have provision for posting pictures!). Cheers!
I heard back from Hotel Saint Martin and they confirmed they have internet near their reception only. For those who have been able to get WIFI in their rooms it's obviously because their room was close enough to the router to get it. I'm going with Le Rapp (Ken, I looked over their menu...I think I'm going to enjoy French food!) since I think I'll be comfortable there and I really need the WIFI. Thanks for your thoughts!
