Any suggestions on where to stay in Collioure. We will not have a car and will be with our 3-yr-old
Casa Pairal has a lot of charm and good location in town. Relais des 3 Mas is across the harbor with fine views of Collioure; it's a few minutes walk around to town.
I would recommend Hotel les Templiers. It is right in the middle of town, so it's a fairly short walk from the train and is convenient for restaurants and the beach. And there is a carousel right across the street. The hotel rooms overlooking the street were a bit noisy at night. So you might want to ask for a room in the annex at the back, which isn't as charming but would be quieter at night for your 3-year-old.
Another vote for Hotel Les Templiers. We had a room towards the back that was excellent.
Thank you for the feedback! I'm striking out thus far. Casa Pairal is booked, Hotel les Templiers says that they do not any rooms for our family (which I translate as my daughter) and Relais des 3 mas has a room for 270 Euros (a bit over our budget). It wouldn't be a true vacation without a few road blocks would it??
We stayed at Hotel Les Caranques in Sept. 2010. It also overlooks the bay and a short walk to town. You walk right by a small park with a playground. We only ate breakfast at hotel a couple of times as they didn't have WIFI so went to local cafe for breakfast and used their free WIFI.
I recall seeing Les Caranques and thinking it had a good location.
We have a reservation at the http://en.hotel-mas-des-citronniers.com/. It got good reviews and seems like a good price. I have e-mailed with the hotel and they seem like nice helpful people. Good luck
