Considering a tasting trip to the Cognac region and wonder if anyone has done one before and/or has any suggestions. Prefer B&B's. Any travel book suggestions etc.

We have done afew tasting trips to Cognac and enjoyed them. Worth doing. however we have never stayed in the area.

We stayed in Cognac and had a lovely time. We stayed at "Le Cheval Blanc" B&B in 2005. I just checked their website and they are still in operation (http://www.hotel-chevalblanc.fr). The rooms were basic, but clean and I see the bathrooms have been renovated. We could walk easily into town, and I think it was pretty close to the Angoulême train station.
