Can anyone recommend a nice relaxing coastal town that's close to Barcelona? Looking for a nice way to relax after spending some time in the city. Thanks!

We had a very enjoyable time in beautiful Llafranc, on the coast about 125 Km north of Barcelona. Just google "Llafranc" to get an idea what it's like.

We stayed in L'Escala on the Costa Brava, about 140 km from Barcelona, we loved it. Lots of people talk about Sitges, 40 km SW from Barcelona, but i have not been there yet.

We loved Collioure, which is just over the border in France, about a 3-hour train ride from Barcelona. Beautiful little village.

Sitges is definately a good choice for a coastal town that is close to BCN. You are about an hour's train ride south of the city. Sitges has a nice mix of a beach atmosphere and a historic small town atmosphere. There are also plenty of services (laundry, market, etc.) as well as activities, night life, dining, shopping, etc. A few years ago, I used Sitges as a home base for Barcelona. We loved it so much we ended up scrapping the last day in the city altogether.

We enjoyed our stay in Sitges. About 45 min train trip to Barcelona. Lovely beach and a nice sized town - everything in easy walking distance. Fair sized grocery store near the train station. Lots of restaurants and galleries for it's size.
