clothes to bring to gimmelwald in August?

Planning to spend 3 nights in Murren/Gimmelwald in late August. The start of the 2 week trip the time will be in Friuli and Como, and will end in Geneva. My wife particularly is worried about what kind of warm stuff to bring to the Alps.

August is usually warm everywhere except on the highest peaks. At the absolute most, you may need a light jacket at night, but that's it.

Layer, layer, layer. I usually wear a tank top, covered by a long sleeve t-shirt, with a waterproof windbreaker tied around my waist in case if gets cool up in the mountains. August is lovely though and around the lakes you will most likely have wonderful weather - a few rain showers perhaps but nothing more!

I was in Murren in late July last year and it only rained a little on our last day when we were walking to the train station, luckily our hotel provided us umbrellas and the staff drove our luggage down on a cart. We were there for 3 days and had sunshine each day. If you go to the Schilthorn or Jungfrau, bring a heavy jacket. I am over 300 pounds and usually always warm, but I was freezing. Might want to bring a light jacket for rain an layer it up.
