I am surprised that there is not a single comment - appreciate some comment of its utility - with about e40 per person, this cost adds up, but could not find any reference to it on this forum. Lisboa Card, Madrid Card and Barcelona card.

Perhaps you've gotten no responses because no one has used them. About all you can do is look at the list of things the card covers and determine which you would want to do. Then look at the regular prices for those things and determine which is the better deal for YOU. The worst thing would be to buy the card then run frantically around trying to "get your money's worth" from it. If you wouldn't realistically do enough of the things to realize a savings, then the card is not for you.
Truthfully, I didn't begin to understand the original question so I ignored it. In general, we find city cards to be useful but it is a math question. As Nancy said, add it up. One way we find them useful is that we often will take a quick look at a "B" or "C" attraction that we probably would not have done if we had to pay a entry free of more than Euro or two. And sometimes we have been very pleasantly surprised by the attraction and are very glad that we took that quick look.
I've never used city cards because we tend to limit the amount of attractions we visit during each trip, so the math never adds up. However, with public transport plus admission discounts, it could end up being a very good purchase, depending on your travel style. Generally speaking, I tend to think they're always a bit overpriced, but that's just my two cents. You should take a look at what each card covers and compare that to what you're planning to see in the first place, then make your decision from there. Enjoy your trip -- those are three great cities you'll be visiting.
As for the Madrid card.....not worth it. It's 47 Euro for 24 hours, but, unless you want to ride endlessly around on the hop-on hop off tour bus, it's way overpriced. The Prado's entry fee is 8 Euro, the Thyssen-Bornemisza is 7, the Reina Sofia is 6, and the Palacio Real is 8. That's 29 Euro in total....and there's no way you could do all those four locations in 24 hours...even if they were OPEN 24 hours! Even toss in the Madrid Vision day pass of 17 Euro and you still come out behind the eight-ball. Not worth it.
thanks for the advise - it clearly boils down to simple math - appreciate it - I will pass on those cards - I was however surprised that there was not even a reference to these cards this portal quite extensively researched platform. Thanks! rk
