City Buses in Lucerne

We will be traveling with a Eurail Pass. Does this pass cover the city buses in Lucerne? If not, do you have to have correct amount or do the bus drivers make change?

I don't believe the Eurail Pass covers municipal transport.In Luzern, most every bus stop has a machine where you purchase your ticket before boarding the bus. If you're staying overnight at a hotel in the city, they will give you a free city transit pass for the duration of your stay.
