Going to Paris in May with my two sons and want to take a city bus tour to get oriented. Any advice would be grateful, thanks.

... maybe there's a bus that will get you oriented and maybe not. The part of Paris of interest to most tourists is that (small area) which was once within the old city walls - around and near Notre Dame cathedral, generally. I can't recommend any bus tours, as I've never taken any, (usually quite pricey) but I know the local bus #69 is a great way to orient yourself with the central area (along the Seine) of Paris - for only $2! It runs from the Eiffel Tower, past the Louvre, Notre Dame, Bastille, ending at Pere Lachaise.
