Hello, fellow travelers... I will be arriving in Chur, Switz. around 7:00 on a Friday evening, after taking the Bernina Express from Tirano. I leave for London, from Zurich, around 4pm the following day, Saturday. My question is this: Should I make my way directly to Zurich from Chur, perhaps to take advantage of time in Zurich (dinner and a walk about) or should I just stay in Chur and go directly to Zurich Airport, leaving Chur late Saturday morning? Thanks for any advice!

Francesca, Either option would be good, however one thing to consider is that if you carry on directly to Zürich, you'll arrive quite late so there won't be much time for a "dinner and a walk about". My preference would be to stay in Chur and have a "dinner and walk about" there (which is what I did when I made that trip). I stayed at Hotel Freieck, which is in the "old town" area, and there are some nice restaurants in that area. You might want to "brush up" on your German though, as I found that some of the restaurant staff did not speak English (I had to resort to Italian on my first night there, as that was the only "common" language). Hello fellow travelers, I will be arriving in Chur around 6:30pm on the Bernina Express. I want to continue on to Zurich. Do I purchase a ticket for the Swiss Intercity train from Chur to Zurich ahead of time, or can I just purchase it at the station. Any cost advantage to buying ahead? What if I miss the 6:39 to Zurich and previously purchased the ticket? Thanks so much! Ken
