Christmas somewhere in Europe

We have 2 weeks holidaY. We went Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Krakow over 4 weeks through December a couple of years ago. Loved it all. This year only have 2 weeks holiday but thought rather than return to our home in NZ we would spend 2 weeks somewhere else in Europe. Any favourites people have experienced at Christmas time, would be welcome suggestions. Had thought of Bruges, Amsterdam and/or ?????

We did Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam and Madrid this past Christmas and loved it. In addition to these places, our kids left a week before us and went to Germany. Their trip sounded so good to us that this year just my husband and I are going to experience the Christmas markets of Germany. About 3 years ago we went to Rome, Siena, Lucca, Florence and Venice. Italy was beautiful over the Christmas holidays (and a lot warmer than the more northern locations, although that doesn't really matter to us).

Loved Amsterdam at Christmas, although I probably ate too many olieballen. Bruges seems to fill almost every available public square with a Christmas market. And if you're in Belgium, the two best Christmas markets, in my opinion, are in Leuven and Hasselt... actually, Hasselt's is more like an elaborate winter carnival.

Twice now, we've done a Christmas tour that included Munich, Rothenburg, Nuernberg, Bamberg, and Salzburg. The Christmas markets are wonderful; I'd spend every Christmas there if I could.
