My husband and I want to go to Europe for Christmas & New Year. We have been to Christmas markets in Germany and loved them but we will be arriving either 12/23 or the 12/24 so they will be over. We thought of going to England or Paris or back to Germany. We are interested in museums, concerts, good food and culture. Thanks for any help you can give us.
Prague was very nice this past Christmas and the markets are still open till January 6
The idea of Prague at Christmas does intrigue me. Thanks for the suggestion!
No one does Christmas like the Germans. Most of the christmas traditions that we know (a lot of them, anyway) are from Germany. When I was there 2 years ago, I found plenty around through the 26th (and some until Epiphany). However, since you've done the markets, why not try something else? France has always intrigued me (paris and burgundy) for the Christmas season. Of course, if you're into the Christ part of Christmas, you can't get much more of it than Italy. Although I prefer a cooler locale for Christmas. Admittedly, new years is a non starter for me, so I don't care where I am for that one. You might want to watch Rick's European Christmas (it's free online) to get an idea of what each place has to offer.
