Christmas in Spain and Croatia

My daughter will be in Sevilla for the fall and I plan to visit at Christmas time. She wants to travel to Croatia. I would love some thoughts about long to stay in Spain and where to visit in Spain, how to get to Croatia, where to visit other than Dubrovnik, etc. Or if anyone thinks Croatia is a bad idea, I am open to alternatives. Thanks.

You might want to check out weather.com to get an idea of the probable range of temps/weather in Croatia in December--just so you know what to expect that time of year. (If you can handle Boston winters...)
