Christmas in Southern France - dangerous in driving under snow?

Hi, we are planning to visit Southern France in mid-Dec this year. We are planning to follow Rick Steve's Provence guide book by renting a car in Nice and drive all the way to Roussillon, Vaison, other small villages, and Orange, Avignon and Arles. However, we are worried about weather conditions in the village areas (e.g. snow?) and wonder if rental car is able to drive on those narrow hilly roads under this weather condition. I haven't been there before so I am not sure if there will be snow (or heavy snow). Please advise. Cheers, Victor

Other than the Pyrenees and the Alps, I'm pretty sure snow is uncommon in southern France.

There's quite a lot of snow in the mountains at the moment ABOVE 1500 metres. Below that level you won't find much at the moment.

Victor, I have no knowledge of snow in southern France. However, as usual, ignore Ralph; driving in France is little problem.

If there is a rare snowfall, it usually doesn't stick in those areas.
