Christmas in France

I am planning on spending Christmas in France with my family. Are there any specific towns that we should specifically look into to stay in to get a truly French Christmas? We would like a smaller town, somewhere where we can settle in for a week or so.

Do you have any French friends who might be willing to have you over for their Christmas eve dinner? A French holiday meal is something not to be missed. Fantastic food, multiple courses, great coversation, and it lasts HOURS!
