Right now, our itinerary has my brother and I in Munich for Christmas, though this could be changed to Prague. It seems a little bleak to spend Christmas in a hostel, but I noticed that some places (Like Sir Toby's in Prague) offer Christmas Eve dinners/parties. Does anyone know somewhere like this in Munich?
We recently spent Christmas in Munich. Don't know about Christmas eve as we had an apartment. The Christmas market began breaking down early afternoon on the 25th and done by 6 pm. A number of restaurants were still open but do not know how long they stayed open. We hit one for beer and snacks but left by 7:30. But on Christmas day the beer halls were open and packed with families from great grandmother to new born. Go early to get a table.
Well if you decide to go to prague, check on staying at the moored river boat florentina http://www.hotelflorentina.cz/en/pricelist it is moored (usually) during the winter so it becomes a full fledged hotel and the pricing is not bad especially if you share a room for 2
