Christmas Deutschebahn Railpass Promotion!

Hey all, I know a few of you are going to be doing the Christmas market circuit in Germany this year. If you haven't already bought train tickets for travel, Deutschebahn is offering a screaming deal on their 5 day pass, in both 1st and 2nd class, twin pass or single. http://www.bahn.com/i/view/USA/en/prices/germany/german-rail-pass-christmas.shtml?dbkanal_007=L16_S02_D002_KIN0001_kv2-german-rail-pass_LZ001 In addition to all the normal deals of the German railpass, you also get free public transportation in many cities and towns, discounts on tours, food, beverages, you name it. I must be turning Swabian because I am way too excited about what a good deal this is!

Throw in some low Airfares and you can be a "bad influence" as my mother would say.

That rail pass didn't work for me, since I'm going to Strasbourg for a couple of days in the middle. I did buy the introductory Bahn Card 25 for €20 - good for 3 months, starting no later than November 30. I get the 25% discount on all trains within Germany - even on the really cheap early bird rates, and even after discounts for buying tickets for 2 people at once, and even on the ticket to Salzburg. You don't see it advertised when you use the website in English, but as soon as you start to buy a ticket, it is offered. I'm getting really excited about my Christmas market jaunt - just can't quite get my head around the temperatures - right now, it's about 20 degrees warmer here than in Frankfurt - and that's celsius! brrrr I think my mantra will be gluhwein, gluhwein, gluhwein, gluhwein, gluhwein, gluhwein, hic, hic, hic.
