We'll be in Munich for a week in December, is a day trip to Salzburg on Christmas a good idea?

I spent a lovely Christmas in Salzburg 2 years ago. The highlight was the main service at the Cathedral that morning. Full orchestra and choir, clergy in their robes and a full service. Later in the day I attended a concert in the Mirabell palace- 3 violins in a lovely setting. I had reservations for lunch at the restaurant "Herzl" and dinner at the Sacher Hotel. All reservations made on internet. The Christmas market closes early on Christmas Eve. JKR
