I will be arriving in Cherbourg and then walking to the Train Station. Anyone familiar with the walking route between the ferry terminal and the train station? Google maps shows that its about a 45 minute walk, but the route goes east for about a half mile along the water-front and then turns back to the west to the harbor area and then up to the train station, for a total distance of about 2.5 miles. But a more direct route (like from one of the hotels directly next to the Ferry Terminal) to the Train station is only about 1.5 miles.
