We're heading to the Loire Valley this September. Taking the TGV from Paris to Tours, rent a car in Tours, and staying 1/2 mile from the Chenonceau Castle estate (in Francuile). So, we're just starting up the search of what to see/ where to visit/ where to eat in this region. Our loves= gardens, estates, castles, picnics in the countryside, quaint villages, bicycling, easy hiking, and of course eating! We also really appreciate the hidden gems not advertised to the public, such as "go to this pub for dinner on Saturday for unforgettable live music" and "climb to the top of the Caesar's tower at sunset for a spectacular view of Warwick and countryside" and "go to lunch at Le Flore en L'ile and order their duck omlettes". Thanks!
