Ever since I heard of this service, I've always wanted to try it. We land in Zurich in July on a Friday morning. After some site-seeing in Zurich will go to Luzern and spend Friday evening. Wake up, do golden pass/Mt. Pilatus, and then head for Murren in afternoon. Has anyone used this service? Is the Murren BLM a part of this service? I've tried to research this on Murren Tripadvisor forum and am still unclear about it. If it works, will luggage arrive in Murren on Saturday or Sunday?

There are three services: With "Fly Rail Baggage", you purchase special baggage tags from Rail Europe, attach them to your checked bags in the US, and when you land at Zurich the bags are intercepted by airport personnel and transferred to Swiss Rail. The bags will arrive the next day in Murren (they do participate). With "fast baggage" you need to get your bags to the Zurich main station (the airport train station doesn't participate) before 9am, and it will be delivered the same day to Murren. After 9am it will be delivered the next day and it is part of the "Baggage Switzerland" service. The airport train station does participate in this. Which ever option you choose I recommend it, I use the Fly Rail system every year from the UK and I've never had a problem.

Since they are spending the night in Lucerne it looks to me like the question is about Fast Baggage from Lucerne to Muerren, not from Zurich or the airport. I'll go look on the Swiss rail site to see if Muerren BLM is one of the stations that offers this service (for pick-up).

OK, I cannot find th elist of stations that participate (there are 46 in all) but if you click on "Fast Baggage Connections" on this page: http://www.sbb.ch/en/station-services/services/baggage/fast-baggage.html And put in from Luzern to Murren it will show that you can pick up bags after 6:30 pm the same day.

The "connections" schedule (which I linked so Jim could use it) actually says it has to be dropped off by 9:23 am but I would certainly drop it off before 9 am just to be safe.

Here is what it says if you use the Fast Baggage Connections drop-down selections for "Luzern" and Murren" for a Saturday: "Hand in your luggage at Luzern before 09.23 and get it at Mürren on the same day after 18.30." But to be on the safe side I would do it before 9 to comply with the general conditions.

We arrive in Zurich on Friday, and will miss 9 am cut off. We will arrive in Murren on SATURDAY, approx. 5-6pm. We will spend Friday evening in Luzern. We will get by with back-packs on Friday. I THINK I want to use Fly Rail Baggage option from Dallas. Leading to my question, when will my luggage be in Murren, Saturday evening .....or Sunday, a.m.? I don't think my initial question was clearly stated.

Well yes, your initial question wasn't clearly stated, as to which service you wanted. I thiought it was Fast Baggage from Lucerne to Muerren since I would never want to be separated from my luggage for an overnight stay. But now that you have clarified you are asking about the Fly Rail Baggage service, Michael has given you the correct information about when you can pick up your bags in Muerren.
