We are leaving in a week for Europe and are still trying to find recommendations for Hamburg and Munich. Would like to stay under 100 Euros/ night if possible. Thanks for your help!

Try one of the Seibel hotels in Munich-I think Rick still lists at least one, and they are all on the same website. The one next to the Viktualienmarkt is a great location. Very affordable for Munich.

I stayed at the Hotel Ludwig in Munich. It's opposite the train station.

for you munich segment i would recommend pension westfalia (in munich). it is a small european-style pension and was quite reasonable in 2005, when i took my european adventure. the website is:

We just stayed there two weeks ago and it was 73 Euros/night. Free breakfast. It's a few blocks from Oktoberfest. If you're going during Oktoberfest, they may be sold out...
