Cheap hotels & activities: Barcelona, Nerja, Arcos, Seville, Granada,Girona

We've figured out our itinerary, and now we get to fill it with fun things to do!

Feb 1,2,3,4: Barcelona
Feb 4: Malaga to Nerja
Feb 5: Nerja
Feb 6: To Arcos, through Ronda
Feb 7: To Seville
Feb 8: To Granada
Feb 9: Granada (Alhambra)
Feb 10: To Girona
Feb 11: Back home

Our goals are to experience as much Spanish culture as possible with not much $$. Current plans involve Flamenco in Seville, Alhambra in Granada, lots of Gaudi in Barcelona, and Carneval in Nerja.

Suggestions?

Sounds like an exhausting but complete trip. While in BCN, check out the Güell Park, one of Gaudi´s largest landscaping projects. The park is free, but the museum costs some cash. (Personally, I'd skip the museum, more from a time constraint than an economic one.) From Parque Güell, you can stroll back into the center of town, hitting most of Gaudi's principle monuments along the way.

In Seville, my vote for flamenco is Café Sol Cantante (C/Sol, 5 Tlf. 954225165) If a guy named Franklin is still working the door he should be able to give you an idea of non-tourist oriented flamenco stuff as well.

You might also just skip Seville and spend the extra day in Granada, looking for flamenco in some of the seedy dives up among the caves. Either way, enjoy!

Norm,
I definitely prefer Seville to Barcelona, so no wrath from me on that point. I'm not quite sure about your affinity for Sevillanas, but we'll chalk that one up to individual preferences.

I've plotted a map with Gaudi's buildings. You can find it at:
http://www.quia-absurdum.com/barcelona/gaudi.html (Not sure why, but Firefox centers the map on Palo Alto, but you can navigate to BCN. Works fine in IE and Opera. Go figure.)
