Effective immediately German discount grocery stores "Penny" and "REWE" (available everywhere including some airports and train stations) now sell SIM cards that allow you to access high speed HSDPA internet all over Germany for €2.49 per day. It's a prepaid SIM card that you can buy at the cash registers of those stores. The downside is, before you can use it you need to register the card using another phone (cell phone, public phone, hotel phone) and a German address (e.g. hostel, hotel) and then wait about 2 hours for the card to be activated. Up side: You can then use T-Mobile's high speed wireless internet which is available all over Germany even in rural areas...
