Chateau de Vesailles Upcoming Sales

I would like to purchase advanced tickets for the Chateau de Versailles for September 4, 2013 to avoid the long lines. I have check the website and it states that there are tickets going on sale soon for a tour of the Kings private apartments - Opera and Chapel in English. these tickets are 16 Euro. I found this tour when I was in the process of purchasing the Passport tickets for 18 Euro. As I read the description of the tour it states: Attention the price of the ticket (16 euros) includes an access to the Palac's most famous places: The Hall of Mirrors, Grand Apartments of the King and of the Queen, Kings Bedchamber and Mesdames' Apartments (weekends only). Consequently, do not to take a Palance ticket. My question: Do I need to purchase a separate tickets to see the rest of the palace? I do not necessily need to see the gardens as I don't think my husband would find that interesting. The passport tickets is 18 euro but if I purchased that, I think I would still have to purchase the tour?? Unfortunately, I don't see any option to write or call in English for clarification. Can anyone help. Thank you,

If you buy the 16 Euro tour ticket, that DOES include entry to the Palace, so no need to buy a separate ticket. The 18 Euro Passport ticket provides entry to the Palace, the Trianon Palaces and the Domaine de Marie Antoinette. The Gardens are free except for fountain days, but it looks like you'll be there on a Wednesday, so you can go to the Gardens if you want at no extra cost. So, if you buy the 16 Euro tour ticket you can see the Palace and the Gardens, the only thing you wouldn't have access to are the Trianon Palaces and the Domaine de Marie Antoinette.

Thank you for your quick reply and help. If we would purchase the passport ticket, would be have to pay extra for the tour i mentioned previously?

If you buy the Passport ticket, I think you'd have to pay an additional 7 Euro for the tour (at least that's what I'm interpreting from my RS Paris guidebook). I know if you have the Museum Pass, Versailles is included and the tour with the musuem pass is 7 Euro.
