Chateau de Chillon?

Is 3 hours enough time in Montreux to visit the castle? Or should we allow for 5 hours (the downside being we get back into Paris later that night). We plan to stop for a few hours while traveling from Zermatt back to Paris. Thanks!

I think 3 hours should be fine. We visited there while in Montreux for the Jazz Festival and I think that's about the amount of time we spent. Might even have been a bit less. I feel like we saw everything in an unhurried manner. Definitely worth a visit.

We had the better part of an afternoon in Montreux, and it was fine. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe on the waterfront, strolled along the waterfront promenade after lunch, then went to see the Chateau de Chillon, which we loved. If we had more time, we gladly would have spent the night, but that said, I can't say that we felt rushed or didn't get a nice feel for this very pretty city. I don't recall exactly how much time we had, but it was probably something like 4-ish hrs. Made for a very pleasant afternoon.
