We're considering going to Rouen from Chartres by either rail or rental car. So far I've only been able to determine that trains to Rouen from Chartres leave in the evening (therefore blowing a day in Chartres that we don't need). Anybody know the full train schedule from Chartres to Rouen? We'd prefer to train to Rouen, spend most of the day there and then pick up our car in the late afternoon and drive on to Honfleur We're also considering renting the car in Chartres and going directly to Honfleur and making a day trip to Rouen the next day. Any suggestions?

Dennis, There is no line that goes directly from Chartres to Rouen.
You'll have to go from Chartres to Gare Montparnasse in Paris. Then you'll have to take a bus (or cab, or metro...your choice) to the Gare Saint Lazare in Paris. www.voyages-sncf.com will help with reservations.
