Beautiful pictures, especially of the windows. John - If you're reasonably fit, be sure to climb the tower for a cool view of the whole town and surrounding countryside. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see the labyrinth below the cathedral; check it out if you're interested.

Chartres makes a great one day trip from paris via the train. We have visited the cathedral twice and enjoyed our visit both times. Behind the cathedral a nice park like area.
