1) Car 2) RER B into Paris Gare du Nord, walk to Magenta stop then RER E to Hausmann/St Lazare stop & walk to Gare St Lazare. Train to Trouville/Deauville, then bus to Honfleur.

As far as time goes, it'll take about an hour to get from the airport to G. St Lazare alone. You can drive straight to Honfleur in two hours.

But we do not need a car in Honfleur.
I assume it would be expensive to drive. Thank you

Ed's advice as always , is spot on . Honfleur is a beautiful walking town. My question is what are you doing after Honfleur ? If you are then proceeding through Normandy and hopefully to the D Day beaches , a car is really the only way to get the full impact of the area . In addition the driving on the D514 coast road is beautiful and very relaxing . My wife and I did this last fall and were totally entranced . Having the car gives you the freedom and flexibility to go at your own pace and to be able to savor the depth and impact of this place

Daily car rental rate will depend on the duration of the rental. Gas to get up there in a small car will be less than thirty bucks. Tolls for the route are about twenty-five dollars.

Thanks for all your help. We leave Honfleur to go to Paris for 11 nights and then to Sarlat, where we will rent a car for a week. Thank you,
Elizabeth

get a rental car from CDG. honfleur is not big so you should try to park once you enter the city limit. there are designated parking areas you can't miss.
