changing flights

I am arriving with Iberia inMadrid at 740am. I need to get to barcelona. Do you think I can make a flight 2 hours later in the same airport but different airline, Vueling? or would it be better to take train?
Both options cost 140-160 E each round trip. NO DEALS ANYWHERE!

Personally I would take the train, but that is just me. Two hours should be adequate provide - the big IF - that your plane is on time. Not sure I understand why you are flying into Madrid to take a round trip to Barcelona. That doesn't make sense to me.

I am visiting barcelona and madrid. My nonstop flight arrives in madrid at 740 am. I thought since it was early I would start the trip in barcelona and then return to madrid for the latter portion of trip because my non stop flight leaves out of madrid. Im stressed because I need to get to barcelona either by plane or train. Both are about 160 E round trip. And I dont know how long it would take me to get to AVE train from the madrid airport. DO you? Any suggestions? Thanks

Since you are already going to be at the airport, you may want to just stay at the airport and take a flight. You may want to allow more than 2 hours though since you are booking separate tickets. This would give you some cushion in case your flight is delayed. You will need to go through immigration, claim your luggage (if you have any), and then check-in with your new flight. Do you have to get to Barcelona the same day that you arrive? If not, you might just consider splitting your time in Madrid and putting Barcelona in the middle. If you did that, I'd suggest the train. That way you would not have to worry if your flight came in late. It would have worked better if your original flight were booked to Barcelona with a return flight from Madrid (instead of as a round-trip), but since you have already booked a R/T you don't have as many options.

If you feel more comfortable, take the next Vueling flight, only 80 minutes later. Prices do vary from flight to flight, which I am sure you know from the company's website. Both airlines use the vast Terminal 4 but you will have to retrieve your luggage to go through customs and check it in with Veuling. That airline is no-frills, and plane boarding can resemble a land rush, but they are very efficient.
