Different sources tell me that traveler checks are not worth the hassle and others tell me that they are the way to go. Same goes for ATM's. How do you guys exchange your currency while in Europe? Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I will be leaving in 13 days. I thank you all in advance.

WHO tells you that TC are the way to go? Is it the bank trying to sell you the TCs? I know of no one who has recommended TCs for the past ten years or so. A debit card with an ATM is the most convenient and cheapest way to obtain local currency.
buy euros before you leave home. ive seen too many travelor check horrors
Frank is right. No experienced traveler recommends TCs in the last 10 years. Obtain an ATM card and notify your bank that you will be using it in a foreign country.
ATMs are the only way to go. Read previous letters on this page. Most travelers admit TCs are too difficult to cash. And too costly. Why fool with them when there is an ATM on almost every corner?
