Trying to figure out the easiest way to get from Chamonix to Paris by train. We (my husband and I) will be travelling mid September. Any advice anyone? I've searched on Eurail - the suggested route - leaving as early in the morning as possible on the 19th of Sept. Looks do-able but I'm wondering about having only a 6 minute transfer time at St Gervais Les bains le fayet. Are we going to be pushing our luck? Thanks in advance :)

Better to buy your tickets directly from http://www.voyages-sncf.com/billet-train/resultat?hid=GY2#journey_1 . This is the French national rail site. you will be booking direct , with better pricing . I am making this exact trip not long after you ( October ) and for your date I see 7:14 AM Chamonix - Paris for two at 130 EU ( discounted PREM fare ) . Chamonix - St. Gervais- Bellegarde - Paris Gare de Lyon . No worry about the transfer at St. Gervais , have your bag in hand and six minutes is longer than you imagine .
