Hello We are a party of 4 - 2 non skiers who will be staying overnight in Lyon (light festival) in December. We were thinking of then going to Chamonix for 2 nights before returning to Paris (our base for a few weeks). We have very reasonable accommodation there and plan to have 2/3 night accommodation periodically during our stay to break it up. Is Chamonix worth a visit or are there other "mountain" snow capped areas closer in france?
